Sessions are held online on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM (during the academic year).

The goal of this on-line Journal Club series is to discuss peer-reviewed published articles that raise or address ethical implications of using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in medical education, patient care, biomedical research, and healthcare administration.

To do this, the Journal Club brings together an interdisciplinary group of faculty who represent the fields of bioethics and clinical informatics.

This Journal Club has two intended audiences:

  • Audience 1: key participating faculty in bioethics and clinical informatics have full interaction capacity (during sessions they are able to speak, listen, and chat).
  • Audience 2: healthcare and other members of University of Iowa, as well as interested members of the public, can attend and have partial interaction capacity (during sessions they are able to listen and chat); see below for a link to register for an upcoming session.

Sponsor: Program in Bioethics and Humanities, Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa
